Arzu and Gamze Kirtil are established artists of the piano world, attracting wide praise for
their exciting and innovative performances.
As well as having successful solo careers, Arzu and Gamze Kirtil have performed as a two
piano ensemble since 1998, studying at the prestigious Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris/Alfred Cortot
under the famous Germaine Mounier, obtaining the Superior Performing Diploma and the Superior
Concertist Diploma with the commendation of the jury.
Their concerts at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall in 2000 & 2001
and at the TRT Radio Concert Hall in 2005 were broadcast live by TRT Television and Radio.
The duo has collaborated with Tadeusz Strugala, Juosaz Domarkas, Daniel Tosi, Hikmet Simsek, Isin
Metin and Erol Erdinç among others. They won first prize at the 6th Medoc-Aquitaine Piano Competition
in Bordeaux and again were rewarded at the 10th International Young Pianists Competition in Rome.
They currently reside in Luxembourg and Ankara, Turkey. The duo presented the world premiere of “Teamwork 1”
in Istanbul 2010, European Capital of Culture, by German composer W.Gangkofner for 4 Pianos, a work dedicated to Gamze and Arzu K?rt?l.
